Matthew's Seventh Birthday

Matthew had yet another birthday last year. Depending on how you calculate it he's had six or seven. This time his party was a the H.R. MacMillan Space Center or, as it is better know, the Planetarium. They offer birthday parties where they supply a party room and give each kid admission to the shows. I'm not a big fan of the laser show. I remember when the planetarium had shows about space, stars, and planets - not pop music with flashing lights. The kids seemed to like it, though I'm not sure how appropriate all the music was for seven year olds. Kids aren't particularly impressionable at that age anyway.
There was also a simulator ride that I missed and a presentation on the science of bodily functions in space. The kids loved that one. This is Matthew taking part in a demonstration showing that the ears have a lot to do with how we sense our movement. Oh, and how they make astronauts puke.
His Space Centre party was not on his actual birthday since it fell during the week so we had family over on his real birtyday for dinner and cake. That week is pretty slow for family gatherings anyway, so this helped to fill the void until Christmas... three days later.
