Traboulay PoCo Trail

As promised, here are some pictures of Matthew's first bicycle ride outside of Blakeburn park. We rode down part of the Poco Trail, a trail that circumnavigates most of Port Coquitlam.

We followed a stretch along the Pitt River, between Dominion Avenue and Shaughnessy.

We turned around at Citadel Landing, a small park and viewpoint near where the Pitt River and the Fraser River meet.

On the way back we were surprised to see an eagle flying low over the river and cross the trail in front of us. We were even more surprised to see it land in a tree above the trail, and more surprised yet to find another eagle was already there.

One day I will finally get my Google Map GPS/Photo page working well enough that I can post a link here to an interactive map of this trip with photos. Check out the Map of this trip, complete with our path and the location of each photo. Click on an icon to see the photo. If you are interested I have explained how I made it here http://notions.okuda.ca/2006/03/10/google-maps-gpx-viewer/

Thanks for the .gpx file explanation. It's been very usefull.
I'm currently making a gps unit myself to store my routes and feeding them into google maps. Not that there isn't ready made equipment out there, but what could be better than doing it by yourself!
